The Victor DriveX 8S is the perfect all-around mid-range racket for players who play a balanced power/control game with a slight preference for control. The DriveX 8S works well in both singles and doubles given its 3U weight, stiff shaft, and slightly head-heavy balance point. Our Honest Review
The DriveX 8S is Coach Julie’s favorite racket. For a DriveX series racket, you will notice that the 8S is a bit head heavy though not overly so. It works well for control players who could use a little help reaching the backcourt or leveraging that slight head heaviness for more powerful swings. When Coach Ching played with it, he found it to be a quite good all-around racket. He didn’t notice any slant towards power or control in the 8S leaving it squarely in the space that Victor puts it: an all-around balanced racket. Having said that, the racket feels very solid and crisp and would be at home in the vast majority of players’ bags.
