Our Honest Review

The New Carbonsonics are certainly improved over the first generation. They have a more comfortable hitting feel and their flight is right in-between a nylon and feather shuttle. The veins are more flexible than the original version they do seem to be more durable. We felt like they are a little slow though, so keep that in mind. Durability is good given the flight vs price. For most players, you should be able to get through a few games with one shuttle before either the “feathers” break or the stitching around the skirt starts to become too flexible to keep the flight. At roughly $3/shuttle for a few games with a similar flight to feather, that’s really not bad at all.

Look, these are not a replacement for feather…yet. We all know badminton shuttles need more innovation. We can’t keep the unsustainable and, quite honestly, inhumane gathering of foul feathers and these shuttles are a workable alternative. Are they prefect? No. Are they better than nylon? Yes, definitely. We would recommend these for casual games or training.
